- Location: Takhasussi St
This place is hard to find on Takhusussi St because their sign is rather small and even though the words are in English they blend into the background. The experience on the inside makes up for the exterior inadequacy!
Note: this place is open to families on Fridays ONLY. The rest of the week it is open for men/singles only.
The seating arrangements are like tents and one can assume that going out camping in the desert would be a similar experience. The seating is on the floor with cushions, and they have vines apparently growing across the top.
The food is traditional Saudi and a great experience. The food is supposed to be authentic (as per the Saudis who went with us) and DELICIOUS!! Definitely have the squash and the jareesh (the oatmeal stuff). The camel was tender as well.
This is a great place to go with a group and hang out for several hours under the sky (almost visible) and cool breeze! Good thing they do not allow sheesha/hubbly bubbly in the city otherwise no one would leave the restaurant. Liked by expats a lot because of the environment and because the staff understands and speaks English.
